What to expect on Sunday mornings:
CLOTHING
Please dress as you feel most comfortable. There is no dress code for you to follow. Many people dress casually, and you will be warmly welcomed as you are.
SNACKS AND COFFEE
Most weeks, we have small breakfast snacks and coffee available before the service. Come a few minutes early to meet someone new!
WORSHIP STYLE
Churches of Christ traditionally sing a cappella, meaning our church typically sings without instruments on Sunday mornings. (We have sporadic instrumental worship services throughout the year.) We sing a mix of traditional hymns and more contemporary praise songs. The a cappella tradition is beautiful: When we lift our voices together on Sunday morning, we become God's musical instruments through which God makes amazing music. We also know the a cappella tradition can be unfamiliar for a lot of people, and that's okay! We encourage you to simply take it in or to participate as you feel comfortable. Every voice is beloved to God — even those that are not perfectly in tune!
COMMUNION
Communion (also known as Eucharist or the Lord's Supper) is a sacrament of eating bread and drinking fruit of the vine as a reminder of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection. Communion is central to who we are, and we observe it every week with crackers and grape juice. We practice an open communion, which means anyone can participate in communion as they feel comfortable and called. We believe communion is a symbolic, tangible representation of Jesus' faithfulness to us and our commitment to Jesus.
PARTICIPATION
Different members of our community lead different parts of our worship service, including reading Scripture, praying, and leading our communion meditation. This means we get to hear the voices and perspectives of many different people in our congregation. All members of our community are welcome to participate.
