"Jesus the Preacher" led by John Wilson Appleby Center 286 and virtually Aug. 28 – Dec. 18 We usually describe Jesus as a “teacher” not a “preacher.” But the Gospels preserve a number of sermons Jesus preached. This class will center on a few of these world-changing messages, such as the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5-7), the Sermon Against the Pharisees (Luke 11), the Discourse on the Church (Matt. 18), the Discourse on the End Times (Matt. 24-5), and the Teaching at the Last Supper (John 13-17).
"Sacred Pathways" led by Eric Wilson and Falon Barton The Fireside Room in the Caf Aug. 28 – Oct. 16 Join us to learn about and practice the nine sacred pathways that Gary Thomas describes as the primary ways that people all over the world connect with God. Just like our character traits or our love languages, each of us have unique worship personalities. We also need all of the pathways for a holistic experience of who God is. This class is a chance to better understand your own spiritual life, better appreciate how other people express their faith, and perhaps encounter God in a surprising new way.
"Koinonia" led by Hung Le Outdoors in the courtyard between the Rockwell Academic Center and Elkins Aug. 28 – Dec. 18 This is a conversational small group. Bring your coffee, spend time in Scripture, and enjoy life together.
